This weekend I have been to a stone-sculpture course in Bohuslan, Sweden, with sculptress Annika Löb Mossberg as a teacher. It was great fun, lots of hard work, sore muscles and some nice machines to work with as well as the old chisel and hammer. We worked on granite, which is the local stone, much used in old harbours etc, and little did I know HOW HARD is it to work in that stone! I am quite in awe for everyone and anyone who chooses this as their material. I will never be able to see a sculpture again without thinking about the month and years used to craft it. I used much of Friday and Saturday cursing, but then on Sunday I suddenly saw the light and it turned into fun. KKV is a centre for artists, with an emphasis on stone, but they also have facilities for textiles, ironwork, they also have a great ecological café, Olivia and some cool . Anyone can rent space there and there are great climbing facilities in the area as well. Comments are closed.
