![]() In 2000 I was right out of art-college with my furniture design degree and on my way to settle down in New York with a job at SOM, -one of the largest architect companies in the world, situated on Wall Street. I had landed the job by pure accident and was pretty shell-shocked from the fact that I got a job I never applied for. But then, who can say no to a job in New York? The bag was packed, my flat was empty and the plane was booked and I was having the goodbye-beer with my friends.. But the world, and especially Wall Street was hit by two planes, my job went up in smoke, I decided to become a jewelry designer instead of a furniture designer, and here I am fifteen years later, going back, but not to Wall Street this time.. I have been invited to take part in the "Complete Parts" at the Highline Loft Gallery organized by DRAFTspace in June. The Highline is one of my favourite places in NY, -the remake of a derelict high trainline which runs through Chelsea into a long and narrow park. It is the most wonderful park I have ever been in, so having an exhibition in this area is just a dream coming true. The Highline Loft gallery is going to be a perfect place to stage a jewelry- show! I will be going over the week beforehand to meet up with different galleries and shops, so if you are interested I will be in New York from 1.-7.06. Send me a mail at post@kgd.no I will show my newest designs at the show, but will also bring quite a large part of my collections. "DRAFTspace was established in 2013 by a dynamic team of professionals with extensive backgrounds in art, fashion, architecture, film and show production. Founders Jun H. Lee and Miyonne Lee combined their diverse experiences and interests to form DRAFTspace as a platform that allows outstanding artists and emerging designers to be discovered by influential industry connoisseurs. Since its inception, DRAFTspace has staged several successful events designed as conceptual presentations that engage viewers in an immersive experience of works of artists and designers in bold, unconventional ways.
