The other day we had a photoshoot and I am always amazed how much hard work it is! We were hoping for some forecasted hours of sun, so at least we would have an illusion of summer, but it was windy, rainy and pretty miserable all the time..  The model, Silvia Delgado Silvestre was a true hero posing in thin summer clothes in the freezing wind. Make-up artist Chi Ha Tran did an amazing job in the back of a van  andMira Zahl mananged to stay put even though she could not feel her fingers. Nevertheless, the pictures came out great, but we probably didn´t need to be on a beach to take them:)

I met some really nice women from TJ studio during the Berlin fashionfair who was working for Luka Maurer, I was totally impressed by how professional they were and especially how well they dressed. Coming from Norway I have never hacked the continental dresscode, but it always impresses me how women on the continent manages to look so smart all the time. Anyhow, now I am invited to Lausanne in Switzerland to present my work at a showroom there at this great gallery and hopefully it will be succesful enough to spure further co-operation. Must learn to dress first..

Tomorrow is d-day for photgraphing some of my new jewellery. The collection is called "paper & scissors" and Mira Zhal is the photographer as usual, the plan was to be on a beach, but the weather-forecast will drive us indoors somewhere. Here is a little sneak-peek. I have been working with folding circles, and am amazed how you can change the appearance of one shape just by altering the direcrion of the folds. Love working with this collection and the small earrings will probably be ready for my showroom in Sugarshop later this month.

First time to one of the biggest jewellery fairs in Europe as an exhibitor together with Dagmar Mildes from www.dagmaria.no. Big step, lots of money and thousands of visitors! We were actually the only Norwegian exhibitors there. I lived in Munich almost twenty years ago, but my german seemed to be stuck somewhere so that will be the task for next year! Inhorgenta is the place to be for jewellery-designers like me, hall C2 is for independent makers as myself, and it was a truly inspiring place to be, but you feel pretty daunted by the sheer amount of talent there. We were moaning a bit by the lack of free coffee in the morning, but that was just until we realised there was free alcohol every night after closing time. Nothing is like a good glass of white after nine hours on your feet! Looking forward to come back next year, with comfortable shoes and better german:)

In January I went to Berlin Fashionweek where Fier Management and Edge Showrooms had found a great gallery where they had invited lots of designers to show their work. I was the only jewellery designer, and it was great to see the world from a fashion aspect. Lots of new and very talented young designer. I set up with my lasercut decorations and over the next days I met a great amount of fashion related people, bloggers, journalists etc, and I was even featured in Italian Vogue!
Berlin was great as always, and I hope to live there for a couple of months next spring.
If anyone wants to swop house, please let me know!

I just got it confirmed that i am going to Berlin Fashionweek 18-20. of January where I will be exhibiting at Brunnenstr 170 in a galerie which is rented for the occation by Fier Management who are hosting the event. I am one of the eight designers they are promoting. This really destroyed my illusion of a quiet x-mas, but who cares?? Looking forward to be back in beautiful Berlin!

I got a bit carried away after being challenged by alltime-champion-gingerbreadhouse-baker Vera Micaelsen. I can now, after quite a few hours of doing this give some advice. Most important, -don´t make the dough yourself, buy it! secondly, always recut the pieces right after they come out of the oven (you have of course made a cardboard pattern for all the pieces). Glue with melted sugar and use thick square pieces on the inside of the corners to stabilize them..
I should really have done some jewellery for a x-mas show today, but well.. at least i won:)

aaah! eventually my exhibition in Bergen; The Secret Garden, in Gallery Format is more or less finished. I am sooo pleased with the result. Opening tonight and praying for good weather (it rains quite a lot here..)

Been packing all day and heaven knows how I will actually get to the train with over hundred kilos of luggage. Here are some picts of some of the last pieces which I actually finished today. They are made from paper which has been dipped in resin and then electroformed with copper which has been treated with salt and vinegar to get the weathered surface. Lots of fun! Can´t wait to be on that night train. Tomorrow Bergen and straight into Hotel Grand Terminus for breakfast. Can be recommended if you arrive Bergen early in the morning.

The closer to the exhibition I get, the more fantastic accidents I make and I just love this part of the process. The other day I had finished off and oxidized three pair of big earrings when they all broke off due to some dry soldering I hadn´t discovered, I was really pissed off and put them all aside so I could resolder them when I got the chance. When I took a glance on them later I realised they how beautiful they were stacked up like that; so I got my drill and hammer out and riveted them together into a ring. Love the result, just finished:)
The morale is: if everything works out just like you planned it is fine, but if it all goes haywire fantastic things can happen
